You deserved it! Sauti Sol’s Bien tell Kenyans after Burna Boys' rant By Jeff platnezz

Sauti Sol lead singer Bien Aime Baraza believes Kenya can be a better country if citizens demanded for explanations and apologies from politicians like they recently did from Nigerian singer Burna Boy.
  • Burna Boy during the weekend was a trending topic after netizens ganged up to force him into issuing an apology after he infamously described Kenyans as peasants.
He refused and in turn, several media houses were forced to cancel his scheduled interviews.
“If you demanded an apology this vehemently from political class, this would be a different country all together” wrote Bien on social media.
  • Fans, however, descended on Bien accusing him of siding with the Nigerian singer betraying his country --worst of all, on Mashujaa Day.
Bien eventually had to explain why he dragged politicians in the argument and clashed with State House Director of Brand Strategy and Events, Big Ted’s statement in which he had asked fans to boycott Burna Boy’s show unless he apologizes.
  • “We don’t respect ourselves but we demand respect from others. We (Myself included) have brought this country and particularly our industry to its knees. I don’t endorse Burna Boy’s behavior.. But feel like we have bigger fish to fry” Said Bien.
On Sunday however, Burn Boy ironically took to Twitter to thank Kenyans for turning up in huge numbers for his show.
"Just woke up and I still can’t believe how amazing last night was. Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved that made it possible. Also to NRG Radio, Thrift social and my brothers Sauti Sol and most especially by Kenyan fans,” he said.

Sauti Sol and Nyashinki release song hitting at Kenyan politics By Jeff platnezz.

Afro-pop band Sauti Sol has teamed up with rapper Nyashinski for a new song titled “Tujiangalie”, a social commentary meant to give Kenyans a rude awakening.
  • The release comes after activists Boniface Mwangi prompted Sauti Sol to stop addressing impunity on social media alone and also do it a songs.
"Sauti Sol is here doing a political tweet. It’s the work of artists to use their art to speak truth to power. Good start. Now don’t stop! Sing about impunity too," Mwangi told them. And they did. Kenyans, loved their first attempt too.
Tujiangalie has gone on to collect positive feedback of and online, leaving Kenyan youth reflecting on how politicians have always been giving empty promises year after year.
“For our latest release we thought about the world right now and the number of persistent issues plaguing it,” said Sauti Sol when releasing the video.
“These things are hardly ever solved and we are consistently shortchanged. So we considered; how can we address these frustrations?
"None of us are perfect. None of us are exonerated. We have all contributed to and benefited from the flawed systems. But, change is a result of possibility. If we all decide to personally act towards building a world we are proud to live in, then it will become a reality. ”
It's the second collabo from Sauti Sol and Nyashinski this year after releasing Short and Sweet in May. Tujiangalie is the sixth single off their forthcoming LP, Afrikan Sauce.

I never dated in campus - Kush Tracy By Jeff Platnezz

I was a student at Kenyatta University after joining in 2012. I studied Bachelor of Arts - Theatre Arts and Film Technology for four years.
  • The whole course was fun, and my favorite unit was acting. But I cannot say the same thing about video editing. I have never been a behind the scenes kinda person, and so video editing was not my cup of tea.
Life in campus was fun, frustrating at some point and adventurous. I would hustle at times to make a few coins. I remember I used to do sales and marketing, more of hawking kitchen wear in different places for commission.
On dating, I would say, I never dated in campus. I found relationships being too demanding and needing a lot of work. I was more focused on working on my music and building my brand. I think campus relationships are not for everyone. Some people just want to live life, explore and basically just have fun.
  • To unwind, mostly during weekends, I used to hang out at the swimming pool with the swim team, or at the students annex or shopping Center. Otherwise I spent time in the studio when not in school.
Some of my unforgettable classmates in campus included Sleepy David, and he is funny.
I am however yet to graduate having differed my classes to focus on my music. Interestingly, I am not planning to go back to study theatre. I want to take a different direction, possibly mass communication and entrepreneurship.
Kenya’s female rapper, Teresia Ndoti famously known as Kush Tracy who is the ‘Huwezi Ni Dandia’ hit maker tells us about her campus years.

Morgan Heritage, Diamond Platnumz team up again for Africa.by Jeff Awala

Grammy-award winning music group Morgan Heritage and East Africa’s Diamond Platnumz have teamed up again with a new collabo.
  • Diamond Platnumz, an MTV EMA winner, is featured in the new tune - Africa x Jamaica - alongside Ghanaian star Stonebwoy.
The track has a heavy baseline, with a quick tempo, experimenting with a dancehall tune and Diamond did not disappoint by injecting some bongo flair to the track.
The last time Morgan Heritage and Diamond released their first collaboration, Hallelujah, it garnered more than 1 Million YouTube views in 24 hours.
Diamond, however, suffered a major blow after the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) banned his international collabo.
According to the regulatory body, Hallelujah and the other 11 songs, contained illicit content which violated Tanzania's code of conduct.

  • One lazy afternoon while browsing through my Facebook wall I saw this beautiful girl Marion Curriy(not her real name but the first one) , she had one thing I admired the most when it comes ladies stuff, the brown dotted teeth, weird right? As long as my eyes were on her teeth, everything else on her was pure refined gold. I could figure out the kiss she could plant on my cheeks if she ever happened to meet me. That’s all I wanted that day.I therefore took the bold step and inboxed her, sending her greetings the sexiest way I could, to my astonishing disappointment she never even replied. Being a man who never gives up, I took it upon me to always check on her wall. The angel luck appeared on me when I least expected. She had posted on her wall that she was single and he want a man who cannot heart break her again. She complained that her ex-boyfriend played with her with another girl. Being a man certified by her heartbroken story, I knew that I had to make her happy andprotect her like my own daughter. I was very much motivated to dig down all by myself. I communicated with her online and told her that i want this relationship to be of forever and ever.  she was very thankful, she started texting me from that day and calling each other Beb.
  • Marion curriy had a way of making my Facebook browsing worth my time. With no time we graduated to Whatsapp, instagram, twitter, snapchat and even gave each other phone contacts that’s how I got to know all the stuff about her and her family. The most nice part was our first date, I am based in nakuru, kenlands and her in Nakuru,East more. since I never wanted to get there tired and messy I took time to travel on the eve of the day.She never disappointed, she was prettier than I thought, the more I looked at her the more I thought to myself that angels really do exist. Though we had the whole afternoon together it was the shortest and the fastest spend afternoon in my entire life. The world is really a global village, thanks to social media. I have had a couple of friends I might not have met. My girlfriend is a product of that too. I am thinking of taking this to the next level, taking her over to my parents.       Do you have a hot story or scandal you would like me to publish, please reach me through jeffplatnezz@gmail.com or telephone: 0723410366 and facebook:jeff platnezz      jeffplatnezz.blogspot.com
